Novisal has been retained by Fields Grade, a design-build firm located in Hoboken, NJ, to provide Air Quality Monitoring services at 100 Water Street to meet the requirements of NJ’s Perimeter Air Monitoring regulations. Novisal’s Industrial Hygiene Team developed the PAMP (Perimeter Air Monitoring Plan) based on the known contaminants of concerns and environmental stressors on the site. We then selected and installed the proper monitoring instrumentation, characterized the target parameters and action levels, and helped identify how data would be reported, archived and controlled.
Novisal Field Technicians have been managing the sampling stations by monitoring their operation, then reporting and disseminating the real-time data to all stakeholders as required. A Novisal staff CIH is available to help all parties understand the data for immediate hazard mitigation, protecting workers and the public.
The 100 Water Street project is part of the Water Street Redevelopment Plan in Jersey City aiming to transform this old industrial area into a multi-building, mixed-use property that includes new residential, commercial, parking and transit-oriented development. The plan focuses on blight removal, infrastructure upgrades, land use changes, sustainability, and the inclusion of affordable housing. This area of Jersey City has undergone highly publicized environmental remediation involving the removal of industrial contamination.
